I take cannabis edibles daily for chronic pain. I am patient not a doctor. I make most of my own medicine but that gets old. Therefore, I go to the dispensary once a week and if they have something new and recommend it, I give it a go. I trust my cannabis consultants.
I bought a @sweetmaryjanebakery Merciful Chocolate Brownie -150mg from @green_sativa_8411. I have tried the Sweet Mary Jane products before and loved the taste but they have not been as productive as products I buy or make. I have noticed over the last 7 years, that how a product is made (and with what type of THC/CBD extraction) can change how my body receives the product.
Later, I will do another post of what I take and why it works for me. Also, how I dose and when because that is as important as the mg you take.
I ate 75mg and felt nothing after 45min. Finished the second half off, not much feeling of relief, then slowly started to feel something.
After about 1.5hrs I got the warm neck feeling taking over that slowly relieves some of my pain. Not completely, never completely, just enough to make my pain more tolerable.
The brownie was delicious. The potency was not strong enough for me.
My tolerance and metabolism are high so don't take my dose.
Cut the brownie into 8 - 18.5mg pieces.
Eat one 18.5mg piece of brownie.
Wait 30-45 min, repeat if you are not feeling anything.
Wait...
One dose should be plenty for new medical patients.
I'm not a doctor, just a focused medical user. EVERYONE reacts differently to cannabis, so move slowly into the med side. If you take too much to begin with you may have a bad experience. Slow and steady is the key to unlocking what works for you.
If you are a new user, here are a few ideas that you might try to see how your body reacts to THC and CBD at medical levels. These suggestions are based on personal experience and 1000's of chats with cannabis users and "off the record" doctors:
Take first time dose at night - 2hrs before bed.
Take with fatty foods (milk, oil...) to enhance and prolong effects.
Keep the cannabis in your mouth longer - your mouth can absorb the THC/CBD rapidly.
Eat or drink over a period of time, creating a micro dose of a higher dose.
Experiment with your intake. For example; full or empty stomach, fatty foods vs. oil heavy foods...\
Ask an experienced friend to help you. If you are nervous and apprehensive, you will not have a good experience.
Indica first - it's the best for calming and relaxing your body and nervous system. Try all kinds of Indica.
Sweet Mary Jane makes delicious products (which is bloody hard to do) that work great for most people. Unfortunately, they just don't have much impact on me.
